A Visit from the Prime Minister On Saturday 10th November, PVRSC had a surprise visit from PM John Howard. A great deal of enthusiasm was shown by the players and parents who were thrilled to receive the PM in our very own stadium.
Liberal Party Candidate Karen Chijoff, in her official capacity (Karen is a regular here at the stadium, her children playing for the Glenmore Park Club) and Prime Minister Howard announced that a re-elected Coalition government would provide $5 Million for an expansion and upgrade of the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre.
Obviously we are very excited at the prospect, $5M would see an expansion of the centre to a possible 8 court facility, no more playing games in the Aussie heat, we'd have air conditioning, retractable seating for 3,000, attracting some major events to Penrith and allow new growth sports such as Futsal to expand.
